Tally Youngblood is about to turn sixteen.
In the future, once you turn sixteen you get a
surgery that makes you super-model pretty. Also when you turn sixteen you move to new pretty town. Tally meets Shay while sneaking into new pretty town, and they find out that their birthdays are on the same day. They become best friends. They go on adventures on hoverboards and to the old cities. Right before their birthdays, Shay runs away to a place where people who don’t want the surgery go. This place is called The Smoke. To run away to The Smoke is illegal. When government officials are wondering where Shay went, Tally is the person they want to talk to. This book is about the adventure that Tally takes to go and find Shay.
